Alerts, sharing & security

Journal alert rules delivered by push or webhook, prop account rules, revocable public share links, privacy mode, and two-factor sign-in.

Alert rules

Alerts are evaluated on your own server — after every trade write and on a background scan — and delivered for free. Configure them under Settings → Rules → Journal Alerts; the master switch is Enable alerts.

RuleFires when
Risk rule brokenA closed trade risked more than your max risk per trade (Risk Rules)
Daily loss limitRealized P&L dipped below your max daily loss, even if the day recovered
Consecutive lossesThis many losing trades in a row, ending today (default 3)
Prop drawdown approachingA prop account has used this share of its drawdown budget (default 80%). Breaches always alert
Unreviewed tradesWeekly nudge when closed trades older than N days (default 7) have no execution grade — the same trades the review inbox counts. Tapping it on mobile opens the review queue
Weekly reviewSaturday 09:00 in your market timezone, with a pre-filled review note

Timezone sets when "today" rolls over for the daily rules. Each event fires once (a daily breach once per day, the unreviewed nudge once per week). Recent Alerts lists what the server sent.

On mobile, Settings → Trading & journal → Alerts has the same rule toggles plus Push to this device; thresholds, timezone and webhooks are edited on the web.

Channels

Alert Channels lists where alerts go:

  • Mobile push — registers itself when you sign in on the iOS / Android app (Expo push).
  • Webhook — Add webhook with an http(s) URL and an optional label. The JSON renders natively in Discord, Slack and ntfy.

Each channel has a Test button and shows its last delivery error. Webhooks to private / LAN addresses are blocked unless TM_ALERTS_ALLOW_PRIVATE_WEBHOOKS=true; the scan interval is TM_JOB_ALERTS_INTERVAL_MIN — see Configuration.

Prop accounts

Set an account's type to Prop (Settings → Accounts), then open the account and click Prop rules: profit target, max drawdown, drawdown model (Trailing, End-of-day trailing, Static), daily loss limit and a consistency rule (% of profit one day may hold). Leave a field empty to skip that rule. Home's Prop program card tracks equity, trading days, best day and progress against target and drawdown; the drawdown alert above watches the same budget.

A share link is a revocable, read-only public page with an aggregate performance record — win rate, profit factor, cumulative P&L curve and rhythm stats. No trades, notes or account details are ever exposed.

  • Create from Settings → Sharing → New share link, or the share button on Reports (which scopes the link to the current account and date range). On mobile, from Reports.
  • Show money amounts is off by default: the page shows ratios and the curve's shape only.
  • Expiry: 30 days, 90 days (default), 1 year or never.
  • The Sharing list shows each link's scope, created / expires dates and view count. Revoke cuts off access immediately.

Public pages are off by default — set TM_SHARE_LINKS_ENABLED=true on the API (and TM_PUBLIC_WEB_URL when the web app lives on another origin).

Privacy mode

The eye button in the header (web) or on Home (mobile) masks every money amount as •••• — stats and ratios stay visible. Use it for screenshots and screen-sharing. It's a per-device display setting; on mobile it also lives under Settings → General → Display.

Two-factor authentication

Settings → Profile → Security → Two-factor authentication → Set up: scan the QR code (or type the key) into any authenticator app and confirm with a 6-digit code. Turning it off needs both your password and a current code. On mobile the same screen lives under Settings → Profile; it shows the key without a QR code, since the phone is usually the authenticator.

There are no recovery codes by design — shell access to the server is the recovery path. If you lose your authenticator:

docker compose exec api /tradermemos disable-totp --email you@example.com

Token activity

Beyond last used, the server records which clients use each API token — IP and user agent, one row per client (a repeat from the same IP and app folds in for ten minutes; the 50 most recent are kept). Open a token under Settings → Integrations → API tokens in the mobile app to see its activity, or call GET /api/v1/access-tokens/{id}/uses.
